Crowman & Wolfboy!

Are you looking for an iOS game that is actually worth looking for?

       One that will be worth your time that includes beautiful environments and easy to use controls? One that will give you more than just 5 levels to play with but say, more like 15+? What a coincident! I have just recently come across another wonderful game (currently in development) called, “Crowman & Wolfboy”, that fits all of these descriptions….and MORE!

The story to Crowman & Wolfboy:

Join this unlikely pair of Shadow Creatures, on an epic metaphysical journey to escape their own nature and find a greater meaning. You’ll flee the planet of shadows and travel across the universe itself, discovering amazing new worlds along the way. Nothing will stop Crowman and Wolfboy from finding the Truth!

          The story starts out in the void of colorless fields where your main characters have fled to in order to escape the shadows. They are in search for something more in life, something more than the evil ways that leaves them sitting in silence while the other creatures of the black spend their time dancing a wild dance to celebrate their own wicked ways! They aim their maps for the nearest city in hope to find a better life.

Crowman & Wolfboy is a product of Wither Studios, LLC. This creative company has been working on this game for quite some time now and have put many hours into it’s making:

This company became an LLC in 2011, though it was originally founded in 2009 by Steve Gabry and John Cobb. Driven by our passion for art, storytelling and of course video games, nothing would stand in our way of achieving our dreams. Two short years later Wither Studios is now a team of seven extremely talented artists and programmers. We cannot wait to share our art and the experiences we create with the world!

Character(s) and Levels

 

         One of the many unique aspects of this game is not that you have one main character, but that you have TWO! From what I’ve come to understand, each of them have three moves. So right off the bat, you are capable of 6 different unique moves. Link originally had like 4 moves so you’ve already beat the keeper of the tri-force. Now we can only pray for a Zelda in this game!

       If you watch all their videos that are relevant to the game, they incorporate the in-game music which is a nice steady melody that flows with your activity. I can imagine that it will change with the environment and always keep you wanting more!

           Another interesting but awesome dynamic that is found within the parameters of Crowman & Wolfboy is that the environment isn’t a templated Copy Paste scheme. By that, I mean that every level serves its own purpose and thus has its own theme. Even better, the environment grows more and more beautiful the farther you go. This game is a platformer plus universe adventure game so the more planets you visit, the more you experience! There are worlds of the unimaginable awaiting Crowman & Wolfboy, will you see them all?

Beta

               The developers are aiming to release the beta of this game sometime in December so keep your eye out!
Works of art like this make gaming on the iOS actually worth it. Don’t turn your head to such a gem by any means or else we are left with those pointless games that turn us into zombies, …Farmville.  Crowman & Wolfboy have met their bare minimum needs financially but are still aiming for donations to help further development and so that they can include more features.
